When we announced that a new version of forDiabetes was on the way, we described it as a significant upgrade — a transformation of the application into a more comprehensive diabetes self-management tool. Today, that version is here.
forDiabetes v2 is not an incremental update. It is a complete rebuild from the ground up: a new interface, new data types, new tools, and new capabilities designed to better support the daily lives of people with diabetes and the healthcare professionals who care for them.
A new foundation
The redesigned interface is cleaner, faster, and easier to navigate — built to reduce friction so users can focus on what matters. Underneath the surface, the architecture has been rethought entirely, enabling a level of depth and flexibility that the previous version could not support.
More data, more insight
Version 2 expands what users can track. Alongside blood glucose, the app now logs oxygen saturation, lab test results, and a wider range of body measurements. Every reading is captured in a single logbook, giving users — and their care teams — a more complete picture of their health.
New calculators have also been added: HOMA-IR for insulin resistance, GFR for kidney function, ASCVD for cardiovascular risk, and BMR for metabolic rate, complementing the existing HbA1c, Bolus, and BMI tools.
Safety and connectivity
One of the most important additions in v2 is the Emergency SOS feature. In a critical moment, users can instantly send their location to a healthcare provider or caregiver — a capability that reflects the app’s commitment to safety beyond routine monitoring.
Connectivity has also expanded. Two new glucometers — Accu-Chek Guide and Contour Care — join the existing supported devices, with more additions planned. Apple Health integration and Bluetooth pairing continue to keep data flowing automatically.
Built for everyone
forDiabetes v2 is available in 22 languages, extending its reach to more communities around the world. Whether managing Type 1, Type 2, LADA, gestational diabetes, or pre-diabetes, users now have a more powerful and personalized tool at their side.
This release marks the milestone we set out toward — and the beginning of what comes next.
