forDiabetes version 2.2.0 is now available, bringing a series of focused improvements to the app’s everyday use.
Following the release of forDiabetes v2, which introduced a fully redesigned experience and brought all key monitoring tools together in a unified environment, version 2.2.0 focuses on specific improvements that make the app more practical, cleaner, and easier to use.
The most significant addition in the new release is the AI assistant for estimating calories and macronutrients in meals.
This feature uses artificial intelligence to automatically estimate calories, carbohydrates, protein, and fats, significantly reducing the time and effort required for daily meal logging.
Users can describe their meal naturally, and the system automatically generates an estimate of the key nutritional values, without requiring manual calculations or food searches.
In this context, calorie input is no longer a required field, making meal logging faster and less tiring.
The new version significantly improves the way data is presented throughout the application.
The goal-based glucose overview gives users a clearer understanding of their measurements in relation to their personal targets, while the addition of small charts for each data type helps users quickly identify recent trends without searching through the full history.
In addition, the progress section has been expanded with new viewing options for 3 months and 1 year, while activity charts have also been improved, giving users easier access to their progress and a clearer picture of their overall journey.
Version 2.2.0 continues to focus on fast and practical data entry.
Users can now add medication directly from the glucose measurement entry screen, while support for adding multiple lab test results within a single entry makes it easier to maintain a complete health log.
Additionally, for measurements imported from the Accu-Chek Guide, the app now displays whether the measurement was taken before or after a meal, helping users better understand the relationship between their readings and their daily diet.
The new release also includes improvements to glucose meter synchronization, aiming for smoother and more reliable data transfer within the app. This enhancement further strengthens the automatic logging experience, especially for users who rely on connected devices to track their measurements.
At the same time, navigation icons on iOS and Android have been updated, the app’s appearance has been improved for various font sizes, and dashboard updates have been introduced for a cleaner presentation.
forDiabetes remains ad-free, with offline support and dark mode available, maintaining a comfortable user experience without unnecessary interruptions.
forDiabetes 2.2.0 is another step in the app’s ongoing evolution.
The updates included in this release were shaped by real-world use and user feedback, with the goal of keeping forDiabetes practical, reliable, and adapted to the needs of everyday diabetes management.
The new version is available on the App Store and Google Play.
The development of forDiabetes v2 is implemented within the framework of the “Research – Innovate” Action and is co-financed by Greece and the European Union (European Regional Development Fund – ERDF) through the NSRF 2021-2027.
